My clients or people that know me well know how passionate I am about this subject!
So many new (and existing) businesses completely under estimate the power of professional Branding & Design. How it can elevate a business and make it stand out in a crowded market place.
Many new business owners spend money in the wrong areas, at start up stage, and often miss this out completely, thinking that it is a huge expense or a waste of money! They could not be further from the truth.
Businesses that pay (invest) in professionally designed branding, have a huge advantage over those that don’t.
We’ve all seen the amateurish design and home-made logos (or worse still) those chosen from generic design sites like Visa Print, where everything is dirt cheap and businesses all end up looking exactly the same, with the same logo.
New businesses (if they want to be a credible business) should have start-up funds set aside from day one, to move their new business in the right direction.
Owners who are not prepared to invest up to £5k for great branding and a website are often just dipping their toe in the water of business ownership or are a hobby business that wants to see how it goes before committing (nothing wrong with that if that is their intention of course), however they are obviously not expecting to make a living.
A business that makes this investment is making a strong and confident statement. One that states, I am committed to my success and I am here to stay!
I review lots of different businesses each week and month, so can see those who invest and those that do not, straight away. It never ceases to amaze me but a lot of the expenditure challenge, is about the mind-set of business owner as much as anything else. Are they setting up for success or possible failure?
A brand is a name, term, design, symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller’s goods or services, as distinct, from those of other sellers.
Investment in your logo design, marketing material, branded social media headers, a website and all the other ‘touchpoints’ for your customer and consumer, will all be coherent when they are designed by professionals. Everything looks part of a ‘family’. Everything that reaches your customer must be consistent and recognisable, from platform to platform, website to mobile device. Good design makes a huge difference to the perception of your business.
When your branding and design are coherant and visually appealing, you are on to a winner.
